Fighting against racism
Everyone has an opinion about asylum seekers based on the media and politics, but is this well founded? Racism in our country today is based on fear. We fear the others who seem different and strange; for us the asylum seeker is a usurper.
THE FORTRESS looks at the different perspectives: that of the Swiss Authorities, that of the citizens and also that of the asylum seekers. The preconceived racist notions that imply a hierarchy between the trained and well educated Swiss and the non-educated foreigners are shattered by the testimonials and the images you see on the screen.
The following list gives a glimpse into the essential work being done by several organisations and institutions. There objective is to remind the public of the consequences of racism whether it be individual or collective. It is an information campaign to try and change people’s mentalities, change the laws and to foster equality between humans of all races.
